This is the Project on Eileens Poem "The Colour of the rain"

I had to add a few words to the poem to let the music flow.

So it is :

Rain has no colour .....
Raindrops dont fight one another, but fall together from heaven, to form the ....

it is the first fragment to let you discuss, we are working on it and hope to put the whole Lyrics as soon as possible. We write it on "sibelius"

I like your idea. Is it perhaps possible to modulate to a major key where the "message of hope" comes?
Very very nice :-)
hi Eileen, did you mean like that? I tryed an experiment with the sibelius and changed the instruments in Strings and Marimba (Europe meets Africa) hear it below.

Moin, Conny,

the melody is something I like very much. It develops in a sophisticated line and drags me inside that song - this one really has potential.

Two points I would like to put on display for discussion:

* Although Lucky and his friends are the real experts on marimba, I would say that you are using that African instrument in a European way. Since a voice already will sing melody, marimba should be for rhythmic patterns with fast melody fragments. I try to arrange the things to sing seldom unisono with an instrument, for a percussive one will cause timing problems with the voice, and a legato instrument might plaster the expression and text reception.

* If Eileen's first impression is right, it may be a good idea to enhance that major key discussion even further. What, if you left the verses like they are, in minor style, then brigde to a parallel tonatily to do the whole refrain all (!) in major key, with the same (!) melody. You know, some very successful Eurovision Song Contest songs worked that way :-D You'll need to apply a very fat drums sound with large reverb to the chorus then....

Say - suitcase anpacked again partially, because it got packed much tooooo early before the flight, and some things you've put in there were still needed in daily life ??? :-)))))

here you find the lyrics from Eileen, i only changed the refrain (at the time). Now see, if we get the song without much change on Eileens words which are very strong and nice. Thank you Eileen , allowing me to use your Lyrics. Conny

Hi Conny - sorry for my late reply - I like it. It is very nice. that was the similar sort of idea that I had :)
Hi, we worked a bit more on the melodie. So what you hear is the introducion (Refrain), first strophe, Refrain.
I tryed to mix international instrument for the sound for to have the possibility of all the friends of the comunity can join us.
So the sitar (for Indian friends), the marimba (for Lucky), Piano (maybe Vladimir - who is helping me realising all this), Celesta and Cembalo (i dont know who). But maybe we should try to contact "Klassik Radio" if they will join such a wonderful Projekt with playing some Melodies with the Klassik Radio Pops (with Nick Rain). Tell me what you think about the idea and the Melodie . I hope i can upload a midi file. See and hear you soon .

I have modificated the Lyrics of Eileen a little bit for to fit into the melodie. Hope it is ok and you like the new Lyrics. The complete Music will come hopefully soon. Until now all you hear are only fragments to be modificated.

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
