Worldwide cooperation for "The colour of the Rain" needed

We finished the music today. But it is a pitty , it is all synthetic. I would like a few of you to join us with the song. We wrote different lines, and if your computer can read "sibelius files" i can send it through email. I changed the instrument - arrangement to get people of all continents to this song , so the Sitar (India), Marimba (ZA) Celesta, Violin, Contrabass (Europe/US/?) If you have any idea to put other instruments, i am happy to hear which.

For now in the discussion The modifyed Lyrics , The Melody

...well - I suggested things like that about a year ago - workshops to be held by academics or pro's to attract people to the Sawubona site. I even stated that if Ken Hensley would have been asked to make the same working efforts here online in such a workshop than "condensed" at the Cebit trade fair, we would have had great and lasting opportunities.

You know those transcript workshops in musician's magazines? That would be a level to share skills, while participators get tasks to perform "homeworks" and get feedback on the results.

After all, we still could build our own workshop - with a democratic amateur approach - call it an "open source music workshop".

The only thing that is keeping me back, is that we (not being famous pro's) may not find an audience for it - so I will hesitate in doing so.

Meanwhile - if you have a special task for me for your song, let me know!

Here is the newest Version with voice of NZ Worldclass Soprano Gina Sanders.
She is giving a Workshop in early summer in Stuttgart and would like to perform the song the first time live. So hopefully also Dieter Huober will read this and hear the song. I have a bit problems to get in touch over my computer cause i can not open my page .So for the first time with Lyrics. Hope to put it soon on the sawubona main page. If someone need the complete notes, please mail under sponsarts@gmx.net.

Hi Petra,
a long time i did not hear anything. Hope you are ok, and Winnenden is slowly coming back to normal life.
If you like to to something musically together i would be happy to meet. I asked Si Shen to try to make a video. Let's wait and see.

Warm greetings from a cold appartment

Conny
Moin, Conny,

you did not promise too much - Gina's voice is really world class! And it shows your composing was great too!

Do you have her voice as a single vocal track you could provide to let me work a little on the sound quality? Though a life recording sound has some characteristic taste, still I feel this song is demanding for some more cream and sugar ;-)

Hi Carsten,

i met Si Shen yesterday who is studying at the "Hochschule für Medien" in Stuttgart. She has the possibility for to make maybe a recording in a "Tonstudio" so now we will look for live musicians to do so together with gina when she is here. My / our plan is to make a video to this song with a better sound quality if it is possible. Now i need also Dieters support to realise it. I will ask her if she has her voice as a single recording.

See/hear you

Conny
Conny,

I was able to record my version of The colour of the rain today. Thank you for asking me to write a song. I listened to your song over and over until it played like a record in my head. I then picked up my guitar and played only this song for about two weeks. I am pleased with the results. I hope you are as well. Enjoy.

Hi Billy,

thank you. It is a really nice instrumental version but sounds also a bit melancholic. But i like it.
Is it a mexican guitar? Hope to hear news from you.

Conny

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
