We are updating the whole website with a new layout.
For all inconvenience we would like to apologize in advance.
If there are deadlinks, or links that are not working properly give us a hint, please.
We hope that everything is done at Oct. 8th 2008 around 11am CET (Central European Time).
Please feel free to post any feedback about the new look :)
IMHO, it has a clear structure and has potential to lead everyone to the information he needs first.
Good balance between graphical ambience and functionality.
Only thing I've found yet: The "Home" site still does not invite passers-by to have a quick glance at the music or poems. We may should set some focus on passers-by, for they will have to see first what the site is like - but without feeling one should sign in before having a walk through.
This could either be achieved by adding two sections: Sawubona Player, and any excerpt from poems factory (Niran's poem like in "ABOUT" section, a link to Poems Factory, or a random poem), to HOME page. I fear Dieters little hint in his comment at page bottom to visit "community" might be overlooked.
anyway it might be a good idea to give that great new big b&w pictogram some link functionality like:
The Guitarist pictogram section: Link to Music Factory
The Pen (feather) pic: Link to Poems Factory
The Charity Cross: Link to project description
By the way: Is the "Red Cross" symbol royalty free or licensed?
thank you for the feedback! The idea withe the links in the head-image is great!
I really have no clue why we didn't see that on our own... I will put this on my 'Today - to-do-list'
Idea of new Music Factory is good, access is faster now.
Still I'm afraid that the points we discussed on that Friday phonecalls are not implemented yet - such as:
* Keep all tracks of a song from being displayed as long as no Project is selected
* Therefore the object hierarchy is still not clear. Should be strictly
SONG => PROJECT => TRACKS
* You have to know there's a difference from clicking the graphical block of a project / track, or by hitting within that the link name of it.....
* The attributes to fill out per upload still won't align to that hierarchy
* Auto approval for known contributors is not there yet.
* Poems Podcast category is still missing
Functionality:
- everything should work without problems, tha last runthrough was fine. If there is something that is not working for you, give me a shout please!
To-Do-List:
- Some minor style-changes, some more color there, a bit less here... you know what I mean :)
- There is something wrong with the custom profile themes, we are working on that right now
- The links on the head image (sry Carsten, that was not possible today)
- Another cup of coffee for me. You can admit that this is fixed within the next 3minutes :-)
Carsten mentioned one point >>By the way: Is the "Red Cross" symbol royalty free or licensed?
We are not sure, so we exchanged the images just to avoid any copyright-problems... and to be honest, i like this version even more :)
In addition to this, we exchanged the icon for the musicplayer.
Manuela found a link which was working, but not with the right destination *nice*
Further more, I want to mention that she took care of our Profile at MySpace. *thumbs up*
Hi Carsten, bin heute seit langem mal wieder auf Sawubona gewesen. Hast du die Geschichte mit den Digital Musicians schon gesehen oder getestet? Wie geht es so, was macht die Musik?
Gruß Conny

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
