Back on the block

Time has passed. I have been faced with technical difficulties, concentrating on work and family and taking my guitar playing in a new direction. I have blown amps and speakers and smelled burned wires and rattled fabric.
After rebuilding my Dean V and creating a new tuning and string set up I was excited and riffs were coming along well but the ease at which songs come to me has slowed a great deal. This is unfamiliar ground for me. I do like what I am hearing but song construction is not flowi… Continue

Tell the tale

Dream:

I was in a car wreck and had whiplash for 5 years. I had stopped playing guitar. I had lost the function of my left arm and I was in chronic spasm pain and depression. My soul left me for a few years. Somewhere in year 3 I started coming back to life. My hand on the left was weak and the arm had pain coming from the neck. I had come to the place where I understood that I would never play again. All the while I became a hoarder of music equipment and instruments. There were a number of me… Continue

Captured Time

An interesting fact about my music is it comes and goes. Enough time has now passed such that everything I have posted thus far has been played enough to get a recording done and has left my memory to play it again. I dont know why. Once recorded I move to a new song and rarely play the song again. These are time captured one evolving into another. Each song enfluences the next. I never know when a new song will come to me. They just do and then they are gone. The recordings are moments passed.

Moin, Billy,

thank you - head on to get back online - your opinions and input is highly valued.

Firefox installed by ISSI really should do - IE6 still has some probs, at least at certain patch levels.

Now what's become of your certain dream, the Do-And-Deliver-Good-All-Day stuff?

Moin, Billy,

hope you're fine.

Could you please do me a little favour and check out the new sound engineering of "She Only Dares" (track 18)?

Tried to shorten and ease up the intro and overall sound a little bit.

...oops - I've just mistaken the demos of Toontrack's "Metal Foundry" for the "Superior Drummer" and was wondering about the quintessence of your dream :-)
Ok - now that I've sorted that out... a drums library like that could be just the right thing for you.
The sounds themselves are great - yet funny from that demo's they "suffer" from the same disease like my NI's "Battery 3" - they are recorded very dry so it will be some engineering task to get them into a song - great potential and variety possible - but lot's of work in group compression progamming to get the mix on the same professional leven then the samples themselves. But that is a philosophy I like, that's why I am using the Vienna Symphonic Lib SE rather then EastWest QLSO for orchestra and strings, the latter brings the faster "wow that's cool" results, the first takes some work but delivers maximum flexibility and accuracy.

Yeah, there's really innovation around today, and the choice is either very simple or very difficult.....

Moin, Billy,

thank you so much - your words really mean a lot to me, for I really appreciate your work which is truely unique and innovative, and really is no facsimile of some famous hit - we here those imitation too much every day - but in your case I really feel that your target is not simply to do like the pop stars do, but you really have something to say which many pop stars don't - and that is the difference that matters.

By now your "Deliver And Do Good All Day" tuning must already be part of your personality - has your dream turned into reality yet?

Hi Billy, yep that's what I meant to say. Isn't it like giving birth to a little baby which is getting bigger within seconds, get married and lead a life on her own? Songs are like little babies. Virginity first, and than refined by an artist become a completely new face and attitude. Both versions are really great, but the pictures in my head are different and my feelings, too! Sometimes I cannot stand this feeling when someone touched my little babies (->songs). But afterwards (when grown up) I love them as they are (incl. vocals)! ;-)
An inner strife...............! But in the end, a happy ending!
thank you for the music...........aaaah

"So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs Im singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me"

Sorry for this, but it rushed into my mind........all of a sudden

Hello Billy,
your play is really professional and with so much "emotions". I was wondering why you did not found a vocalist here who may refine your songs. A great voice is sometimes missing to make a real great HIT out of your melody and sound fabrics. Again, RESPECT! I'd wish I could play like you!
good night, Andreas
