Hi Dieter,
many thanks for your comments on Ouma. The story like I understood, describes again the problems and fears of the apartheid, because Ouma's boys were burned by a petrol bomb and the house was on fire. Therefore I used for the chorus…
Hi JustUns,
the music is great of "Ouma" - I love it. I have some suggestions for the lyrics: the "running gag" of the lyrics - and that's very typical for Peter Mbelengwa and Ouma" is the saying:"Mblengwa where do…
Wow, "Symphonic Dubliners"!
Great sound, great experience. I'll be waiting till it will become the Dolby THX Cinema trailer for "Sawubona - The Film" (if not already planned, someone should start immeldiately, 'cos the…

Hi Franz,
the intentation of the lyrics are not so much the focus on the problems of Apartheid. The idea was to descripe the "normal life" of this family an their characters (Peter and Ouma). We don't know who was responsible for the bomb (could be a criminal gang, old Apartheid fanatics..) It happens 1995 in a new secure area of Johannesburg after Peter and his family moved from Soweto in a new house.
The message are:
1. That's the way of life of Peter & Ouma
2. It doesn't matter where you live your normal life - there is always a violence around the corner.
Sorry if the lyrics are not clear enough - I personally think you could also leave out the "bomb thing" totally.
Hi JustUns,
the music is great of "Ouma" - I love it. I have some suggestions for the lyrics: the "running gag" of the lyrics - and that's very typical for Peter Mbelengwa and Ouma" is the saying:"Mblengwa where do you have your cigarts and Mblengwa I fear, you drink to much beer". There is an orginal audio from Ouma, recorded by Lucky Thobela (on his page) - maybe you could integrate it in the song and change a bit the chorus? - However, siyabonga!!!
Great sound, great experience. I'll be waiting till it will become the Dolby THX Cinema trailer for "Sawubona - The Film" (if not already planned, someone should start immeldiately, 'cos the song somehow demands it).
Hi JustUns, "Good Hope" is absolutly a great song!!! I really like it and think this is much more as a great version - I play it again and again!!!
(:--))))!!!!!
Siyabonga - maybe we have a chance to meet us personally. Maybe on Friday afternoon/evening this week (14 August) - pls. let me know if you have time?

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
