Dear Excellence,

did you notice the wonderful video based on the kindergarten-song which is performed by the "be smart academy"? It's quite simple, but soooo impressive. I hope you like it, too, because young students did this work independently (I didn't knew that either!). I think, it's perfect to show on charity events. Although most people are keen on watching celebrities, but this video, the song and even the recording was done completely with honourary capacities and with so much love and conviction. I like the video very much. Even some hidden innuendos get clear while watching the video. I stopped breathing while watching. It's very cute and very emotional. Music and video seam to be symbiotic partners.

yours sincerely

Good Morning Princess Elfi Odu-Dua,

I see that you are performing at Lexus Jazzlunge in Stuttgart on 4 December. Do you sing any of Billie Holiday's songs? I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, the birth of Beebop music and home of Charlie Parker, Count Basie and Betty Carter just to name a few. I am inviting you to join my page of friends. And in-kind, I would like to join your page as a friend.

Keeping jazz live!

Bon jour, et bienvenu, Princesse Elfi,

it is surely a good idea if several forces of beneficial projects come together to exchange ideas and best practice.

Since we already have quite a variety of beneficial and social topics right inside our lyrics and poems - may I lead your attention to the latest tops:

* The Songs of Good Hope can easily be accesed on the main page in the player. You'll find a variety of several styles and quality, some songs are still demos waiting for other musicians and remixers to join in.

* Winner of our "Poems of Good Hope", sponsored by the "Interlational Literaturfestival Berlin (ilb)", in fact is Niran Okewole from Benin's neighbour Nigeria. Here are the links to his winning poem and an interview with the artist

* Andreas has made a great Sawubona song with children from an inter cultural kindergarten in Berlin, with assistance of famous German actress Anne-Sophie Briest. You will find his song on his page (currently no. 3) and a TV report in German language (English subtitles are under construction)

* We have started to read poems in podcasts to reach a broader audience. You'll find some at the Poems Reader page, including the contest's finalists.

* Besides the official "Songs of Good Hopes" lyrics, we also begin to bring music to some of the poems. One example is "She Only Dares" from Kenyia's Ann Kamoni, dealing with suppression and forced marriages of women in the slums of Nairobi.

Plus a lot of other cutural stuff and music, and some working lots for common pieces of art.

I hope you will enjoy some of the content and ongoing developements here.

Best regards,

:-) Carsten (-:

Welcome Princess Elfi to sawubona musicjam. I see that you too enjoy music, which for me music is a universal language that speaks to the soul and emotions of mankind. Do you have a CD available or planning to perform in the near in the future? I believe in the power of synchronicity (meaningful coincidences). You are listed as member #288 and I am member #287, so after reading your website I noticed similar interest around training/learning opportunities, as well as development of young people in West Africa. I am passionate about both and facilitating learning is my life-work. Your life-work is inspirational, timely, and necessary for women and young girls in Liberia. I invite you to continue to share your joy, gratitude and excitement, and in particular with Liberia.

and if possible I look forward in seein

Hallo and welcome your Highness, or shall i say dear Princess Elfi. It's great to find people here , who are interested in others - without frontiers or "Standesunterschiede". My English is not so well but i hope to be able to do something with the help from my friends in and out of the internet platform.
So once more a heartly welcome from Conny, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
