Independent drummer-percussionist and producer, composer, arranger, drum tutor and painter-designer. Texito was born June 1979 in Maputo, Mozambique. Since a young age, Texito took a great interest in music. In 1984 his father enrolled him at the local music school in Maputo. Not long after this in 1989, Texito moved up the ranks and got offered a spot at the national music school. Without even one drum lesson, Texito got placed as the drummer for his new school band “Os Passaros da Musica”. Since then Texito’s music career has been more than fruitful. His rock steady rhythm and creative flair has lead him to perform alongside many great musicians such as Ernest "Khabeer" Dawkins, Maia Axe (U.S.A), Eero Koivistoinen & Seppo Kantonen (FINLAND), Tony Yucatán & Antenor Bogéa (BRAZIL), Tlale Makhene, Jeff Maluleke (SOUTH AFRICA),Trevor "Jabulane" Hall (JAMAICA), Enrique Sales (CUBA), Ronald Snijders (SURINAM), Gibi Bacilio (CURAÇÃO), Prince Malachi, Peter Spence, Dawit Menelike Tafar I (UK), Ivan Mazuze (MOZAMBIQUE) amongst others and Bands such Timbila Muzimba, Tucan Tucan, Godessa, to name a few. He has featured on many national and international albums as well as performing for various audiences around the world. Texito’s versatility knows no boundaries and he has done a remarkable amount of work across many genres.
