New feature: Talents needed

Hello community,
to make musical collaboration easier and more accessible, we've enabled a new feature. The creator of each Sawubona project can now list what types of collaborations he is looking for on his project's page. The most recent "talents needed" are listed on the main page and the full list is available here.
Have fun!

Random Player

Hello community,

as a response to the recent discussion regarding the Top10 list, we reworked the player and it is now playing 20 randomly selected tracks of type "idea" and "mixed". The playlist is refreshed approximately every 15 minutes so everybody's track should show up at some point. Thanks for your ideas and suggestions and see you around.

Ok, thanks for the quick response and offer to help in correcting - I have typed "Sourh Africa (instead of South Africa) for my song title for Song 15. Rainbow Scatterings on the Music Factory. If you would be so kind to correct "Sourh" to " South"that for me that would be great!
Cheers and thanks again,
Brian

Hiya!
I've been trying to start a new project on the Music Factory - several tries in different browsers results in a failed attempt and this message:

SAWUBONA_FILE_FORMAT_ERRORapplication/itunes

Sound familiar? Any hints/tips to help me out in starting a new project on that page?

Cheers,
Brian

Hello, Gustav,

yes, I totally agree with the idea of the master playlist like you said. Only one version of one artist per song is the best solution.

That why I suggested to engange the ALL-PARTS version of ouma, since we did not have any a-capella work in the project yet, which this version is (except for it's middle part of course). It's really ok that the Part_II version has been removed.

Still I think that the newest version with Jannimann (V0.51) is the best - it's not onlyl because of the children's choir, but the soundmix has been widely improved - compared with V0.4.

Anyway, it's just my oppinion, thanks a lot!

Kind regards, Carsten

....still no chance to get "Ouma All Parts" into the master playlist?

Guess you don't like that song :-(

Hi, again,

As I can see, "Ouma All Parts V0.51" has been approved in the Music Factory. Thanks for this.

Please replace/amend old "Ouma Part II V0.33" in master playlist by this version.

Cheers, Carsten

Hi, Gustav,

of course there is already one Ouma version in your master playlist, but it is only a fragment of the whole story.

Just think of Queen's "Innuendo": When being heard for the first time, you would claim to hear two different songs with the first repeated at the end (Rock - Spanish Dance - Rock). We have a similar structure here, I am only afraid that my music won't stand comparison :-(

The original lyrics of Ouma consist of three (not explicitely labelled) different parts :

Part I: The happy Mbelengwa family with funny Peter and funny Ouma
Part II: The fierce fire raid against the children's sleeping room with injuries
Part III: Same as Part I - happy life goes on....

Because the lyrics of Part II differ in an extreme way, I chose to produce an entirely different music style for it. You'll hear that instantly.... Still both use same melodies and themes (Just compare childrens' choir Part I with those James-Bond-strings in Part II's refrain).

Therefore, Ouma Part I (see newest version on Jannimann's page) and the "pre published" Part II (see master playlist) can either be seen as stand-alone songs, or they can be combined to the "Ouma All Parts" Version, where the contrast between Part I and II is enhanced by a mindboggling sound effect :-D

If only one version is to be shown at the play list, I suggest to remove "Ouma Part II" and engage "Ouma All Parts" instead, since Part II is fully included in the middle of it.

If you like, I could provide a new "Ouma All Parts" with Jannimann's childrens' choir by tomorrow.

OK, that's truly a complicated one - any questions?

Kind Regards, Carsten

P.S.: Because I guess some other members could like to join the "parts"-discussion, I put this reply into your open comments section. Hope you don't mind!

i am still working on the songs, its that i wanted to share them with other Artists who are involve in project before i upload them on the side.

most of the songs are just my first ideas, in which i am still willing to work with other musicians as a collaboration for Sawubona-musicjam project.

i Hope you will understand.

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
