Thank you, Hermann, for your fast and kind response.

Well, we have had this years' first snow over the weekend. and some glazed frost on the streets for enhanced fun in car travel - even to dig out the rental car roof and wind screen from 15cm frozen snow today which had gathered there over the weekend cause the rental company didn't fetch and return it - so I bet at least you will have better wheather there up in South Africa. But my children are really like crazy for snow!

Sorry I have difficulties receiving your tv 1 here in Germany, so "A Little Help From My Friends" could be useful :-)

The first "naked" draft is already up here on this site, you'll just have to follow these links to the "All Stars Group" and look out for the attachments.

=>=>= Link to the All Stars Group <=<=<=
=>=>= Link to draft mp3 <=<=<=

Within the group descriptions you'll easily find the whole idea - the message will be "South Africa will celebrate soccer with the world, e.g. big party in 2010", and the idea is we will fetch as many artists as we can to make it "our" common project song, like the Band Aid concept, and everybody shall sing a line or play a tune.

I started to arrange an idea from Conny, but it will be easy to integrate further lyrics e.g. from Jacob (Kenya) he has put to the group. Or from everyone where we find a community to support that thread.

I bet, once you hear my imitation of your Marimba style, you'll instantly have suggestions how to make it a better song. For a definitely did not make it a complete song, I simply wanted to do the first move and see what will happen to it :-)

And the clue is - I hope you and Lucky will find it rather easy to do - I also put the single tracks up there, which could be recombined and extended in any multitracking software.

Are you ready to add your nation's pride and hope for the future soccer event to a song?

*** Let our music be our "remote" hands to shake! ***

Moinmoin, again, Hermann,

please tell me - can you say something about the common noise in a SA soccer stadium?

We are trying to make a soccer song here in this project in the All Stars forum, but we don't know much about the things people shout and the beats you'll hear during a big soccer match in South Africa.

I just put up a first try with Conny's melody she'd sent me with her cellphone... but it's miles to go to make it a credible soccer song....

Can you help?

:-) Carsten (-:

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
