Sawubona Music Jam - looking back (part 1)

The idea of Sawubona Music Jam has a long tradition. Everything started in 1994 with a business trip of Hans Dieter Huober to South Africa. There he had the chance to spend some time in Soweto, a Township in Johannesburg. These impressions and further trips to South Africa in the following years inspired him to write his so called "Songs of Good Hope" - 17 lyrics about South Africa.

CeBIT 2010

The Countdown to CeBIT 2010 in Hanover has started.



There are just 33 days left until take off and we will present the Sawubona Music Jam Projekt on the IBM booth for the third time!! The last two years the visitors could catch up on the story and idea behind the Sawubona Project and the progress of music collaboration in the Sawubona Community.

Back on the block

Time has passed. I have been faced with technical difficulties, concentrating on work and family and taking my guitar playing in a new direction. I have blown amps and speakers and smelled burned wires and rattled fabric.

After rebuilding my Dean V and creating a new tuning and string set up I was excited and riffs were coming along well but the ease at which songs come to me has slowed a great deal. This is unfamiliar ground for me. I do like what I am hearing but song construction is not… Continue
