First Gig Of the Sawubona Band,1998 Karlsruhe, Germany
About a year ago we started with SAWUBONA and "Songs Of Good Hope" and there are a lot of good songs on the blog. Siyabonga, thank you all, for all contributions so far. Now it's time to sort out where we are with the "Songs Of Good Hope".
Now we have songs for almost every "Song Of Good Hope". Some of the songs are more or less ready to use, some are still in draft versions and it's time to make all this contributions transparent.
As we are still waiting for the MusicFactory and expect to get ready within the next 4 weeks, please check the list if we have listed all your contributions. The list will be the basic for the MusicFactory.
There is still a big challenge to work more on the songs and room for improvment for draft versions. Lyrics like "Ouma", "Monica", "Ben" and "Dealing With The Past" could have a change to get more music versions.
We plan for the end of this year a first CD and all songs for this first publishing must be ready until 1 October 2009. A second CD will follow in spring 2010. It wojuld be absolutly great to get your musical input until the end of September thins year!
Please send us a comment if we have overseen some contributions!
Here are the list of the lyrics and songs - update 15 April 2009

Thank you Brian and Dieter for including the Good will Good hope song. My hope is that our good will of donating our collaborative art will bring assistance to the good people of Africa. I am honored to be a part of this project.
I almost forgot, Billy and I have co written a song called Good Hope that doesn't correspond exactly to the Good Hope (Intro) lyrics, but is a new piece that is in the same spirit. I will finish vocals on this soon and submit it for your consideration as well. I understand the direct tie to the original lyrics so perhaps, if not on this round, there is room for a "bonus track" of two on the album release :) Its is great to have an embarrasment of riches around here!

Bitte meinen Eintrag zu Ouma ersetzen (da drei unabhängige Teile / Versionen) durch:
4 Ouma
* Carsten Trotzkowski (with Jannimann, and with Ouma Mbelengwa recorded by Lucky Thobela). Part I "a-capella grooving")
* Carsten Trotzkowski: Part II "Filmscore"
* Carsten Trotzkowski: Part I "a-capella raving"
to make it complete, I just want to tell you, that we will not only work out a "Perpetrator"-version, but even a version of the song "Have A Cup Of Beer", because that title screams out for some Rock'n Roll...;-)!!
Also we'd like to do a Version of the songs around the "Perpetrator" to make the picture compüete, but we're not sure if we have enough time. So for the first step "The Perpetrator" and "Have A Cup Of Beer" must do...
Hi Carsten, bin heute seit langem mal wieder auf Sawubona gewesen. Hast du die Geschichte mit den Digital Musicians schon gesehen oder getestet? Wie geht es so, was macht die Musik?

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
