Historical Background

Aims of our organization

We want to empower other people to breakdown the barriers of social reputation

We want to strengthen community involvement and participation in health issues so as to improve puplic accountability and responsibility for health promotion, care and support

We instill an attitude of self-help and independence. Further more we help unemployed people to be self-employed

We promote peer education of HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections education, home-based care and support and counseling management

We try to combat stigma and encourage people to speak out about their rights

We train and build youth and elders’ confidence in order to be able to manage and contain the
spread of HIV/AIDS through training, information sharing and
dissemination

We make a difference by creating awareness in the community in which we live and to promote skills transfer to previously
disadvantaged communities and individuals to reduce crime and property

What we are doing

Home based care and support:
That means that we are doing home visits, door-to-door campaigns, personal hygiene and basic medical care, persuading
patients to visit the mobile clinic when it is in our area

Health promotion and Training and education for HIV/AIDS:
This contains peer education of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Nutrition, Teenage pregnancy, Mother-to-Child Transmissions
(MTCT), sexuality education, human rights, children’s rights, rape, family
violence, Sexual assault at schools, churches and in our communities

Counseling for people living with HIV/AIDS

Assistance with welfare programs such as food distribution and
care of orphanages

Referral to other service providers

Cleaning services like grass cutting, street
cleaning, litter removal (papers and plastic)

Consulting services:

They support groups for HIV/AIDS and mentoring other community-based organizations about office
administration and bookkeeping

Our strengths

The operating team is made up of multi-skilled

and educated personnel with experience to run training, manage the organization
and the projects implemented.

We are also successfully competent at facilitators
and assessors of the South African Health and Welfare Sector
Educational Training Authority in partnership with the South African
Qualification Authority and the Department of Labour.

The quality of work meets the standard of the
National Quality Forum (including patient safety and infection control) and as
required by the Education and Training Quality Assurance procedures.

Our weaknesses

Lack of premises owned by the organization only rental premises available and no funding for the centre

Competition with well capacitated and developed training centers

Lack of funds for marketing and advertising (radio, print, online)

Lack of employment opportunities for the surrounding youth to be able to learn and acquire the skills that we are providing.

--> If we can get a shipping container or a prefab building ( which would be a luxury), the government would grant us a piece of land where we could set up permanent offices - rent free. That means that our organization has better conditions and money to help our community in all their problems!

If only each of you will donate a little bit for the shipping container you can help a whole community!

We want to help!!!!

And you?

Donate and help!!!

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
