sawubona musicjam

Dear Sawubona Members,

siyabonga for all your contributions to the SAWUBONA MusicJam platform. At the end of 2009 we will give you some views about the follow ups of the project in 2010.

2010 will be the year of SAWUBONA and the "Songs Of Good Hope". During December Werner Acker, Ken Hensley and others evaluated the songs we got for the Sawubona MusicJam - about 120. They will select about 15 "Songs Of Good Hope" for the CD production which starts in the 3rd. week in January. For concerts we will select some "Songs Of Good Hope" more. We will inform you about the final list in the middle of January. The great thing is that it is hard to find out the final songs to record because so many good contributions from many regions of the world.

The studio production is planed in Ludwigsburg, Germany as well as in Cape Town, South Africa. Both studios will work together via Internet and high speed connection - with the support of the South African telecom company "Altech". You will hear more about the studios and names in January. At the same time we set up plans for concerts in Germany for CeBIT Fair 2010, in the region of Stuttgart, Osnarbrueck, Berlin, Munich. The series of concerts will start beginning March at CeBIT Fair, Hanover.

In December we got also new SAWUBONA partners in the music software area and a special food company located in the region of Stuttgart. At the moment we have meetings with the new partners to work out concepts for collaboration. As soon we got all things sorted out we will announce more details.

The Sawubona MusicJam project is in a good shape at the end of 2009. The idea of a worldwide collaboration for music project worked very well. At the Creativity World Forum in December we got not only great feedback to the performance of the Sawubona Band and the project - we got also an invitation to the next Creativity World Forum 2010 in Oklahoma City, USA.

We are all looking forward to hear the "Songs Of Good Hope" 2010 with the sound of success!

All the best for and your families in 2010!!!

Dieter

Dieter,

I cant help but feel a great deal of satisfaction that your visions have been realized for the project. I am very happy for the technical teams and contributors. I thank you for your ability to get this done. Now the result will be to give hope and help and in the process all of us will feel healings. Dieter, its the very coolness.

Hello World,

the year 2009 (which is nearly history) has given all the members all around the world what we all desire in these times. HOPE, CONFIDENCE, TRUST, CREATIVITY and RESPECT.

Thanks to all the people who trusted me, got infected and inflamed and followed my steps which leads straight ahead towards a world of peace, of no frontiers, of not being compared or judged or negatively criticized or crucified for being who we are and how we express ourselves. I hope you will inflame any brother or sister as well !

In accordance with a famous musician who postulated >MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!< I think, that ........

MAKE MUSIC NOT WAR!

....could be a maxim for 2010 to make this world a better place to live for everybody. Let us all forget our self interests ("this is not commerce, this is charity") and start as an outstanding, outreaching, emanating, clearly visible community. No, let us be the SAWUBONA FAMILY! Same as family, all members treat each other as brothers and sisters. Hopefully, a dream will come true in 2010 and I / we will meet the family. Somewhere. Sometime.

(...)
Moments burn, slow burning golden nights
Once more see city lights, holding candles to the flame
Brilliant days, wake up on brilliant days
Shadows of brilliant ways will change me all the time

Somewhere there is some place, that one million eyes can't see
And somewhere there is someone, who can see what I can see

Someone, Somewhere In Summertime!

(Simple Minds, 1982)

To Dieter.........thank you for the ignition spark and -as in 2009- I will follow..............!
To all my friends, brothers and sisters.........a HAPPY NEW YEAR and a successful 2010.

Bless you all!
Andreas

Thank you for the good time in 2009. Hopefully we have a good 2010 too. I am really very curios which songs will be recorded. Wouldn't it be a dream to try to get the people togehter in a workshop in real life - not only on the computer. I tryed to get a place at a songwriter workshop in A, supported by the EU. Look at the site, maybe we should try things like that? www.sommercamp.at/workshop .
So now, the very best for 2010

In order to help others, one must first be able to help oneself...After all, to whom can we be good if we cannot be good to ourselves. I see the music and poetry as introspection (especially the lyrics), and therin lies the character of the soul. On reflection, after reading many of the songs, I can truly say that there is much 'good hope' and still 'good will' toward one another.

Regards

Moin Dieter,

thank you for having started this extraordinary journey where so many friendships evolved and grew - in a hope to change a little bit (or shall I say byte?) of our world and in favour for Africa.

What is the main difference of Sawubona Music Jam from a world full of casting shows and ellbows?

* Sawubona songs are not like all that "easy to consume and thus sells best" music placebos. None is.
=> The Lyrics and Poems of Good Hope really have something to say, they are authentical from the idea.
=> You'll have to listen - really listen!

* Musicians who took part and participated were not payed nor had a promised chance to become famous
=> All are united in their spirit to donate art to a community to help others

* No flame wars at all - no constant fights on style, equipment philosophy, fashion religions etc etc.
=> To have artists who simply pay respect to other artists is not the most normal thing in this world
=> To have artists who leave their "normal mission" and cooperate with other's approaches to art might be even more unusual
=> What other internet forums do we know where there is never fight on odds and ends?

* Integration of all participating cultures lead to this harmony
=> Yes, we fought Apartheid in all ways by respecting everyone the same way
=> As Anke's lyrics said: "We are all equal, we are the same".

Hey, I'm really not only in a cheery post-Christmas-mood - if you follow any thread or forum or blog on Sawubona back to the beginning you will find that all of this is true - and through (almost) all of 2009, I did so... :-D

Let's now in 2010 support the music professionals who take over responsibilty to make the Sawubona CD something that sells for maximum donations - to transform all of the above into a professional product (won't be easy at all) that will fulfill the main goal of all of this: Get maximum help for those with maximum desperation.

It's not important whose song will make it, or how ideas or concepts will be adapted to match the product design.

To grow the most beautiful flower you will have to raise many beautiful flowers - and then select the very best - but all the other flowers will be reflected within the chosen one, which would not be there without the others!

We have 120 beautilful flowers here!

cd review

by Norman DarwenThe first four tracks encapsulate Arkansas-born Billy Jones. ...a wicked, raw, live version of Albert King's 'Personal Manager', 'my Hometown', a bleak, stark portrayal of the ghetto set to a busy but laid-back and bluesy musical commentary that epitomizes what some have defined as his "gangsta bluez" (...though it is perhaps even better on 'Ain't Good Lookin'), the rocking, rollicking, down-home, and subtly Howling Wolf inflected 'Blues Comes Callin'' and the bluesy/ reggae…See More
